Chief Craig Corkrean

Chief Craig Corkrean of Granville Police Department is Liaison for Law Enforcement Initiatives at SHIELD Task Force and owner of Digital Forensics Investigations, LLC. Chief Corkrean supervises all GPD activities, including patrol and investigative divisions, manages the department’s $1.6 million budget and Records Management System, and supervises the Digital Forensics Unit, a regional hub for processing devices seized by law enforcement throughout North Central West Virginia.

Chief Corkrean is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, WV State Police Academy, Champlain College (Masters of Science Degree in Digital Forensics), and Fairmont State University (Masters of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration; Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice). He is an FBI Certified Instructor and a WV Certified Instructor for Crime Scene Processing with an emphasis in Digital Evidence, and was qualified as a Digital Forensic Extraction and Analysis Expert by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia, and as Digital Forensic Expert in multiple jurisdictions.

Chief Corkrean has extensive relevant professional training and numerous certifications, including from the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS), SANS Digital Forensics and Incident Response, Cellebrite Mobile Forensics, National Computer Forensics Institute (NCFI)/United States Secret Service, Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C), and many others.
